Before the age of iron and steel, humanity stood on the precipice of extinction. Weak, hairless, and hunted, early man wandered a pristine, hyper-violent world.

Then, the Monolith arrived. A smooth, unnatural pillar of alien black stone slicing into the primeval sky. It radiated a silent, unseen pull, shifting something fundamental in the primitive minds that gazed upon it.

Sparks caught dry brush. For the first time, the darkness was forced to retreat. Conquering fire gave humanity a shield—but the primeval canopy held terrors that fire alone could not tame.
Great Bear
We were tracking a great herd... The woods grew too silent. Then we saw it, rising from the earth like a jagged tooth. A great blue stone, standing where nothing else was.
Red Hawk
A blue monolith, in the Deep Woods? I thought those groves were forbidden, Great Bear. No man has ever built such a thing.
Great Bear
Not built, Red Hawk... grown. We watched. Krog, seeking its secret, raised his spear. But as he drew near, a flash, like frozen lightning, burst from its surface. It was not fire, but a bright-blue power.
Red Hawk
Frozen lightning? A blue power... My spirit grew cold when you described it. I, too, have seen this thing, a shard of the same blue light.
Great Bear
You saw it, Red Hawk? Tell me, then... is this light the life of the red flower, or a curse on our people? It took Krog and others, with its blue, freezing hand.
Red Hawk
It is not life, my friend. It is a hunger. I call it... the Blue Death. A force that consumes what it cannot understand. If it is here, the real hunt has just begun

A new shadow fell over the tribe, cast by a light that had no right to exist. As Great Bear and Red Hawk rallied their bravest hunters, a bone-rattling hum began to vibrate through the earth beneath their feet.
Deep within the forbidden groves, the jagged stone was no longer standing in silence. It began to pulse with the creeping chill of the Blue Death.
With every rhythmic throb, the azure glow spread wider, crackling like frozen lightning through the ancient roots. The monolith was not merely a rock... it was a beacon. And from the dark, starless sky above, something massive had just begun to answer its call...
